DESTINATIONS

Malioboro Street and Borobudur

In the morning, stroll through Malioboro Street to see daily Yogyakarta life and shop for souvenirs. Lunch outside town on the way to Borobudur. Before entering the park of the world’s largest Buddhist monument, make a short stop at Mendut and Pawon temples, forming a geographical-spiritual line with Borobudur.

Traditional market and Prambanan

In the morning, we visit the traditional market of Kota Gede, where we can taste the famous Javanese medicinal herbal juices and also fruits and vegetables. After lunch, we head east to the Hindu temple Prambanan and its neighbor, the Buddhist temple Sewu. We have dinner at sunset in the Rato Boko restaurant with a view of the vast Prambanan plain.

The City

We will spend the day in town, visiting the Sultan’s Palace, Kraton’s water castle, and Taman Sari. We have lunch in a Javanese restaurant. In the afternoon, we can optionally visit the Dutch Fort Vredeburg or a workshop for Batik production.

Temple Tour

Are you interested in more antique temples? There are hundreds! We show you Sambisari, once buried five meters under the earth; Kedulan, which is still in its excavation phase; Candi Ijo, the twin temples of Plaosan; and, if possible, we take you to the hills of the Rato Boko palace!

Volcano and Ramayana Ballet

We ride up to the foot of Merapi’s volcano and drive over the cold lava fields of its last eruption in 2010. Please note that the trip contains some bumpy tracks. It is less suitable for people with difficulty sitting in a car chair.
Lunch in a resort in the mountains. In the evening, experience the famous Ramayana dance performance!
